Well, I’ve Been To See My Oncologist.

And it went well.

At this time I know more than I did, but not all I need to know. What i was told by my Oncologist is that I have what is known as Indolent lymphoma  (also known as low-grade or slow-growing) One of the two main grades of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. He also told me I am at Stage 4 .

He felt that he needed to do some further tests to be certain he had the correct diagnosis.

He took a bone marrow sample. That was a bit unpleasant.

bone marrow aspiration

Bone marrow aspiration and biopsy: The removal of a small piece of bone and bone marrow by inserting a needle into the hipbone or breastbone. A pathologist views both the bone and bone marrow samples under a microscope to look for signs of cancer.

He also took more blood samples.

Once the final tests are in he will set up a treatment. I was told in 2 weeks so I should be started before the end of May.

Other than that things are fine. I had a nice visit with my Sister.

And now I'm home again.
