Before I start my diary I wanted to give you a brief description
April 25, 2006
Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is a type of cancer arising from lymphocytes, a type of white blood cells. It is so called because of its distinction from Hodgkin's disease, a particular subtype of lymphoma. It is in fact an overarching term of many different forms of lymphoma, each with individual characteristics.
Lymphomas may develop in any organ. Most cases start with infiltration of lymph nodes (nodal), but specific subtypes may be restricted to the skin, brain, spleenor other organs (extranodal).
Diagnosis of lymphoma requires biopsy of involved tissue. Treatment of low-grade lymphoma may be supportive, while high-grade non-Hodgkin lymphoma is typically treated with chemotherapy and often with radiation therapy
I first discovered a swollen lymph gland on my neck in December/ 2005.
In January/ 2006 I went for my first physical in about 40 years. You see, I was a person who never got sick.
At that time my Doctor recommended I go to a specialist.

Bobby, thank you for sharing this challenge that you face with us.
Although there are many miles separating us, this internet venue has allowed us to become good friends. So, any day, any time, if there is anything that I can do, just let me know. You know I listen well, and I play the part of a nurse/mother quite well, as you already are very aware.
We are behind you as you meet this challenge head on. Keep your diary/blog active so we can be with you all the way. And when you need a little love and support, you can add ours to that you receive from your family and other friends.
Many big hugs and much love, dear friend.
