3 Months After
Its been 3 month’s since I went off the meds. I went in for a CT scan on the 2nd and it appears that I am in remission. No sign of any problems.
I go to see an internal medicine specialist in 3 months for a follow up. All in all, I am feeling fine.
I’ll check back then
This will be the last update for a while
I went in yesterday to pick up my final round of meds. All symptoms look good so I won’t be comming back until Jan 02/2007. At that time they will do another CT scan to moniter the situation.
The Oncologist said this never goes away. It’s just a matter of how long it stays in remmision. Most times it can be years so I should be around for a while yet
That’s it for now. If anything comes up I will post.
Well, I’ve had my CT scan
And I won’t know the results until next week. The Doc said he would phone if there was any problems. He thinks no news is good news, but I think good news is better than no news so I will phone to check.
Every thing went smoothly. I always do a blood test when I first get there which usually takes about 45 minutes. This time I was in and out in 5 minutes. So I had to wait a while for my appointment. The nurse took my blood pressure and pulse. My pulse was at 54. She said I had the pulse of an athlete. An old one I told her. I went in for my appointment and wouldn’t you know, I waited another 45 minutes for the doctor. Busy morning I guess. Once that was done I had 3 hours to wait for my CT scan. Had to drink a litre of radio active water. Had to pee all afternoon
The scan only took 10 minutes and then I was done for the day.
So I’m good for another month. Go back again on the 28th sept.
My CT scan is comming up
For some reason they scheduled it after I see my oncologist on the 31st. So I will see him in the morning and have my CT scan in the afternoon. Not allowed to eat all day and have to drink a litre of radioactive water 3 hours before.
Hopefully I won’t have to wait around to get the results. They should be able to phone me with the results.
2 more sessions and I’m done travelling up there. For a long while I hope. Sooner or later I have to get lucky.
I’ve never won a lottery yet.
My latest visit to the clinic
Some times I wonder why they don’t just send me my chemo pills. All I do is make the trip to the clinic to pick up my next dose of meds.
This time he scheduled a new CT scan to see where things stand. It will be in 3 weeks and then I will go back again on the 31st to get the results. So 2 trips in a week. Driving is not cheap.
Not sure if they would stop treatment if it looks like it is cleared up or whether I will do the 6 month’s.
I guess we’ll see.
